FAQs

Q: Does Las Vegas Sport Tours rent motorcycles?
A: Not at this time.

Q: Are there any special requirements to participate in a tour?
A: Yes, there are several. To participate you must be at least 25 years of age, have a valid driver’s license with motorcycle endorsement and valid registration with proof of insurance for your motorcycle. You must also comply with all applicable traffic laws during the tour. To participate in any of the track events you must be an AMA member and your bike must meet certain requirements specific to the track and event that is scheduled. The requirements at each event or location will vary slightly, but all include that your bike must pass some form of technical inspection prior to riding on the track. Typically your bike must be in good working order with no fluid leaks. The tires and chain must also be in good shape. Safety wire may also be required on some parts of the bike. Usually anti-freeze may not be used in the cooling water, only straight water or water with Water Wetter additive. The mirrors must be removed or taped and the headlight must be disabled and taped. To participate in track events you must also wear appropriate safety gear: full leather suit, either one piece or two piece with full circumference zipper (no textile suits allowed), a full face DOT or Snell approved helmet, gauntlet style leather gloves and racing style boots. You’ll also be required to sign our waiver as well as any waivers required at the various track day events. Usually you’ll be required to attend a brief training session at most of the track day events. For passengers we simply require that you wear appropriate protective gear but otherwise there are no restrictions other than the various state laws regarding passengers.

Q: Ok, those are the requirements, but what about recommendations?
A: Tires and chain! These need to be in top shape. If your not sure, invest the extra $ to get new ones before the tour starts. If you plan on riding aggressively on the track days, a steering dampener is also recommended. A camera would also be good, and don’t over pack. Just bring the stuff you really think your going to need. We’ll be able to do laundry along the way, so again, don’t over do it.

Q: What happens if my bike breaks down on the tour?
A: We’ll have a chase vehicle capable of carrying at least 2 bikes so no one will be left stranded.

Q: What about all the stuff I’ll need to bring?
A: The chase vehicle can carry anything that won’t fit on your bike, but please be reasonable. You should limit it to one suitcase and one small carry on size bag per person.

Q: Do you offer any special discounts?
A: Yes. We offer a discount for MSF graduates. Show us your certificate of completion for either the Basic or Experienced Rider Course to receive a 5% discount.

Q: What’s included in the tour?
A:  All lodging plus 3 meals a day, excluding alcoholic beverages. Any track day/event entry fees. All gas for your motorcycle is also included.

Q: Do I have to stay with the group during rides?
A: Of course not! You’ll be given complete itineraries with maps. You’re free to ride with the group or take your own ride. All the rally points will be clearly designated so that everyone can meet at the appropriate places and times.

Q: The name Las Vegas Sport Tours sounds like you’ll be riding fast. What if I’m a novice?
A: No problem! Yes, we’ll be riding fast, but not on the tour. The speed is reserved for the controlled environment: the race track. On the highway portions of the tour we’ll be riding within the traffic laws, no exceptions. We’ll also be following the MSF Group Riding Guidelines and will have multiple rally points so that no one is left behind. We stress safety above all else and don’t want anyone to ride beyond their capabilities. Ride your ride; we’ll be waiting for you at the rally points.

Q: What if I live out of state, how will I get my bike to Vegas and back home after the tour?
A: There are several companies that specialize in shipping motorcycles. Typical cost is around $500. We’ll be happy to help you with those arrangements, all you have to do is ask.
